benefits of consistency

Owning Your Site – Why it matters.

Stop paying monthly fees and moving your website from host to host.

Since 2003, I have been working with attorneys on their websites in the Twin Cities and throughout the United States. Whether I work with law firms on a one-time or on-going basis, I always encourage consistency in your domain name, individual page names and hosting. Whether you are a very aggressive marketer looking to dominate your practice areas in your area or a firm who simply aims to keep a basic website up, consistency is one of the keys to a successful website.

I know a lot of law firms who have jumped from FindLaw to Lawyers.com to Scorpion to the Yellowpages looking for a good site with good results. What’s unfortunate is that none of these companies make any effort to leverage what you already have, so you’re essentially starting over each time.

Are you looking to replace your FindLaw website? Make sure you’re leveraging the work that they’ve done instead of throwing it away. I talk to a lot of law firms about leaving FindLaw because the results they are seeing do not justify the cost. However, it’s important to understand that just because the FindLaw site is probably not worth what you are paying for it, that does not mean that it’s worthless. I specialize in transferring law firms away from FindLaw while persevering the elements of the website that are valuable.

I can help hourly with updates

From time to time, you’re going to need to make updates to your site, and that’s fine. I remain available to my clients on an hourly basis to keep sites up to date. However, you shouldn’t have to be paying hundreds or thousands of dollars each month just to keep a website up. If you don’t have a clear explanation of how much it costs for your website vs. how much it costs to market your website that may be a red flag.

If you have had trouble with law firm marketing companies, or would simply like to get the costs of your website under control, feel free to email, text or call me with any questions.
