WordPress Set-Up – Have a Site Built on WordPress For You

A Nice Balance of Efficiency and Affordability

Instead of doing it yourself, you can have a WordPress website set up for you. As a buyer, this can be tricky, because you want to have a very clear understanding of exactly what you are buying. That said, having someone set up the basics so that you can just manage the pages and posts can be a very efficient way to avoid headaches with the tech pieces of WordPress.

WordPress Set-Up for $1,250

What I’m referring to specifically in the content below is something I’ve been working on where I set up your site on WordPress for a flat fee of $1,250. This includes substantially less than the full website build that starts at $3,000, but it WILL get you up and running. If you want to talk about it feel free to contact me, I am working out outlining all of the guidelines but can answer any questions you have in the meantime. For the purposes of the plus-minus below, assume that you’re getting a theme of your choice with a logo plugged in, your basic pages set up and a contact form.

The Pluses

Get Started Right Away

You can focus on the part of WordPress that you probably actually WANT to use, which is the word processing / creating content portion. This is really the part that’s important, as it’s how you continue to provide additional content to your site. Getting through the “set-up” part can be challenging. A head start can really make a big difference.

Quick & Efficient

You can spend a LOT of time researching the millions of YouTube tutorials and informative articles on WordPress. Finding clear instructions that are a good fit for your learning style and level of computer savvy can be incredibly time-consuming. I’ve already done all of that, and you can rely on my experience so that you don’t have to spend a lot of time and effort learning something that you’re likely never going to do again.

The Minuses

Familiarity

Having someone else set up your site will get you up and running with a nice looking site very quickly, but you’re still not really going to know what’s going on until you actually use your site. However, if your goal is more about updating that part on your bio where it says “8 years experience” when it should say “15 years experience” then you’re going to be fine. If your goal is really to use WordPress a lot you’re going to have to get familiar with it at some point.

Cost

For $1,250 you can get a site up and running very quickly and that is a great deal. However, you need to understand that what you are buying is a temporary solution for most people. Your logo and basic information will still be up and running, but you’re very likely still going to be in a situation where you either need to learn your way around WordPress, or pay someone else to do it for you.

Transfer Your FindLaw Website to WordPress

If you are currently paying hundreds (or thousands) of dollars a month with a company like FindLaw, Lawyers.com or YellowPages.com to keep your site up and running, this can be a great way to transition away and own your site. I want to be clear, this $1,250 CAN be used to transition away from a FindLaw website, but it DOES NOT include the entire full re-creation of your site. I would get your logo into the header, re-create the home and contact us pages and get the domain name handled. However, it would be your responsibility to move all of the internal pages. If you want information on a full website re-build, that is what I focus most of my business on and would be more than happy to talk you through it.

The Middle of the Road

I wanted to start providing a sort of “middle of the road” level of service for people who did NOT want to try to build a website on WordPress on their own, but would like to save money by entering / maintaining / updating their own content. If you have been paying $200 to $600 a month for a basic template, this can be a great way to cut out the monthly website cost and replace your basic presence. It is NOT a full-service website, but if you are fairly familiar with computers you could use this package to have the foundation laid, and you could be able to complete a 10 to 15 page website in a few hours.

Contact Me With any Questions

I want to help you make the right choice and understand the difference between the WordPress set up for $1250 option and the full service website option (which starts at $3,000). You can email, text or call me with any questions.
